February in the gardens

In February the sunlight is notably longer and richer than the short January days. The month is filled with days that seem like spring and cold, blustery winter storms. This winter brought more snow than usual - earlier this week we had a beautiful blanket of snow again. We have been planting seeds in the greenhouse to bring to local farmers markets in the spring. The first, bright green sprouts are a welcome change from the winter grey.
